FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

?: Where do we meet?
A: Once your tour is reserved we'll email you a confirmation with directions to your launch site.

?: What time do we meet?
A: Most tours meet in the morning however they can be customized to fit your schedule.

?: Is it safe for Children?
A: Yes, it is absolutely safe for children. We take kids from ages 5 and up. Younger ones will ride in a tandem kayak with an adult in their party. For those who have paddling experience they are welcome to paddle their own kayak.

?: Are there bugs?
A: We rarely have bug issues. They don't like the moving waters of the rivers. They do hang out in the stagnant water though. Since we don't spend any time in the stagnant water, they are a non-issue on the kayak tours. We carry insect repellent just in case.

?: Do the tours go all year long?
A: Yes, with the beautiful weather in Florida we are able to paddle all year.

?: What about the weather?
A: We rarely have weather issues. In Florida, if it's going to rain that usually happens in the afternoons when the sea breezes from East and West come together. Since we always meet in the morning, we tend to avoid any afternoon weather. Kenny carries rain ponchos with him just in case though. We communicate with our customers so if you have a concern we can address it for you. We won't start a tour in a storm and we won't charge you for a tour you didn't get to take because of weather.

?: Do you have tandem (double) kayaks?
A: Yes, we have tandems, single sit-in and single sit-on-top kayaks

?: Will I see Alligators?
A: When we get asked "Will we see Alligators?" I usually reply with "Do you want to see the Alligators?"
The fact of the matter is, they are very afraid of Human activity and we don't get to see them every tour. They typically feed at night and are pretty lethargic during the day. Kenny says they are solar powered. That's why when we do see them, they are usually sunning on a log or the river bank. We don't invade their space, we appreciate them from afar. They are not lined up, like in the old Tarzan movies, waiting to pick out a kayaker ;-). They are like any other wild animal though and once we learned to read their body language, that became very apparent to us. If there is a Gator standing it's ground, it's usually a Momma Gator letting us know that she has babies close by and this is her territory for right now. The way we see it, any Momma would protect her young like that right? The safety of our customers is a #1 priority for Central Florida Nature Adventures, llc and for those of you that are a bit adventurous, if you do get too close, Kenny will let you know.

?: Can we bring alcohol?
A: No, we don't allow alcohol on any of our tours and it is not allowed on many of the rivers we paddle either. There is plenty of time for that afterwards.

?: Do you give a discount if we bring our own kayak?
A: Yes, we give a 30% discount. We are totally up for that, bring your own yak and join us.

?: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Our cancellation policy: Should you choose to cancel your tour, you must contact us no later than 24 hours prior to the meet time of your tour. Otherwise your account will be charged 100% of the tour price. We must hear from you prior to the day before your meet time to avoid the 100% charge. However, we promise to do our best to work with our customers and create a great tour for you.
